Gazette Name Change
This is the right route if you need your change of name to be recognised by a passport office, a bank, a university, a land registry or a government employer. A newspaper notice on its own is not enough for those bodies. If you only need to fix a spelling error on one document, a correction route is usually faster and cheaper - see the comparison below.
- Change of name - adult (major): Rs. 1,100
- Change of name - minor: Rs. 1,700
- Public notice (correction of name, change of sex, etc.): Rs. 1,400
